Senior & Disability Services is excited to host the 6th Annual A Race for the Rest of Us—a fun, family-friendly event benefiting the Senior Meals Program!
This is truly “a race for a good cause.” The distance? A whopping 0.5K…and no, that’s not a typo! That’s just half of a kilometer, about one-third of a mile, 546 yards, or roughly 1,640 feet—about twice as far as the average good golfer can drive a golf ball. In other words, it’s a race just about anyone can enjoy!
More than just a fun event, this race celebrates nutrition, physical activity, and social connection while raising vital funds to support older adults throughout Lane County.

The Senior Meals Program helps Lane County adults age 60 and older maintain their independence by providing nutritious meals and meaningful opportunities for connection.
Through Cafe 60 Meal Sites and Meals on Wheels, Senior & Disability Services provides:
- 🍽️ More than 36,000 Cafe 60 meals each year
- 🚗 Over 96,000 Meals on Wheels deliveries
- 🤝 Friendly visits, wellness checks, and connections to community services
- ❤️ Support for more than 1,400 Lane County seniors
Every registration helps support this incredible program and ensures older adults continue receiving healthy meals, companionship, and essential services.
